A fiesta for young and old at the Palauet Albéniz

[ 24.09.17 ]

If you treat your children like royalty at home, then perhaps the least they deserve is to spend a day at a palace, don’t you think? If so, you will find no palace more fun during La Mercè than the Palauet Albéniz.

First, we recommend that you tour the building, which is small but very pretty, warm and welcoming and… very difficult to visit the rest of the year, as it opens to the public only during Barcelona’s festa major.

Next, take a stroll around the lush grounds, the Joan Maragall Gardens. Here and there, you will find activities where you and your children can have fun. How they will enjoy playing music on the strangest devices (the Baschet instruments), attending the unusual inauguration of a fountain organised by Toti Toronell, following the adventures of a castaway on a desert island, performed by the company, and much more!

Talented comedians like Marcel Gros and the three brothers who form the Punt Moc company will amaze you with their adventures, with or without words. You can meet them before or after watching the city’s traditional dance troupes, because there is a place here, too, for Catalan folklore.

And, before leaving, how about a little music, performed by Rumbamazigha on Saturday and Saphie Wells & Swing Cats on Sunday? But having fun also makes you hungry. Where can we have lunch? Well, at one of the kitchens on wheels distributed around the site. Bon appétit!
