"Kiasmos" concert, part of "BAM - Barcelona Acció Musical"

Kiasmos (Reykjavik /electronic)

At the helm of the (badly) named neo-Classics, classically-trained pianists who nourish their contemporary music compositions with electronic music, it wasn’t enough for Icelander Ólafur Arnalds – BAFTA for the soundtrack to the series Broadchurch – to lead one of the trends that has taken the acoustic piano out of classical music auditoriums. Alongside Janus Rasmussen, from electropop band Bloodgroup, Arnalds brings with Kiasmos his piano to the dance floor, with a clubber-spirited and minimalist-souled proposal that has already brought many joys live to Barcelona. In 2014 they released an eponymous début LP, followed by the EP Swept (2015), and they’re planning to shut themselves away to work on what will be the continuation. They’re one of the groups at BAM representing Reykjavik, this year’s guest city.
