BARTS concert hall, at the Grec 2017
From North America comes the inspiration that fills the songs of Joana Serrat, a fascinating singer who is becoming an essential name on the folk and pop music scene in Catalonia, with folk and touches of country music. The songs on her 2016 disc, Cross the Verge, sung in English, have managed to win over as many listeners among the Catalan public as her more recent EP, Grabolosa, with four songs on her long player adapted to Catalan. A new disc is expected this autumn, the fourth in her five-year career.
Pop, rock, soul, folk and a host of other rhythms, often clearly connected to roots music, fill the BARTS concert hall for four intense weeks in which women will play an important part.
