They say that, in Migdalia Hechavarría, we find the bolero at its most passionate and at its closest point to Cuban tradition. No wonder that Gabriel García Márquez, Nobel Prize-winner for Literature, is such a fan of her voice. In Barcelona, Hechavarría will interpret the most emotive songs by the great composers from the genre, from Manzanero and César Portillo de la Luz to Myrta Silva and Agustín Lara, amongst others. Contigo en la distancia, Piensa en mi and other classics will ring out in a 100% per cent Cuban night in which Migdalia Hechavarría will be accompanied by José Luis Cortés, El Tosco, flautist and leader of a band considered key in the creation and growing popularity of timba, a modern Cuban musical style.
