Pastorets del Centre Moral i Instructiu de Gràcia

Every Christmas the Centre Moral i Instructiu de Gràcia's theatre section, which was created in 1926, stages Els Pastorets o l'Adveniment de l'Infant Jesús (The Shepherds or the Advent of the Baby Jesus) by Josep M. Folch i Torres. Over a hundred people take part and the classical-style stage sets are made at the centre's theatre. They use traditional paper decorations for these productions. The theatre is part of the Modernista building owned by the Centre, and which was built by Francesc Berenguer in 1904.

The Centre Moral i Instructiu de Gràcia, founded in 1869, is a civic institution created to offer the Catholic schools in the old town a wide range of recreational activities. Since 1924 the Centre has published, with varying frequency, a magazine called Or i Flama, the successor to the Apostolado Seglar, which was published between 1904 and 1909.
