Esbart Sarrià - Ballet Folklòric Sarrià

Manuel Cubeles i Solé founded the Esbart Sarrià in 1954. This group, which popularise folk and Catalan culture, changed their name in 1976, when they incorporated dances from all the Catalan-speaking lands as well as countries such as Greece, Mexico, the Philippines, Israel and Peru. Since then they had been known as the Esbart Sarrià - Ballet Folklòric Sarrià.

They have a dance school called the Escola de Dansa del Ballet Folklòric Sarrià, which teaches children aged 6-12 the rudiments of Catalan folk dancing and offers them artistic training.

The Esbart Sarrià has a wide repertoire of popular dances, specially designed for dancing on stage. They are based at the Centre Parroquial Sant Vicenç de Sarrià, and are actively involved in running this parish centre through the delegate council.
