In 1951, a group of former dancers from the Esbart Santa Maria group founded the Esbart Montseny, part of the Centre Moral i Cultural del Poblenou cultural centre. The aim of this dance group was to continue the activity of the previous one and claim back traditional Catalan culture. Since its foundation, more than 500 people have been part of this esbart.

The Esbart Montseny dance group specialises in stage dances, which it has performed in many places in the country, as well as cities in France and Switzerland.
