The Esbart Mare Nostrum dance group was founded in 1956 in Sant Andreu de Palomar. Since then it has been dedicated to teaching the traditional dances of all the Catalan speaking territories as well as giving public performances of them.

The esbart organises group courses, according to the age of the students: up to five years old, from six to ten, and 11 to 19.
