Festa major de la Clota

Dates de celebració

Second week of July in the La Clota neighbourhood, Horta-Guinardó district

La Clota is one of the oldest settlements in the district and its development began in the 16th century, based around five farmhouses. Unlike the majority of the neighbourhoods in the Horta-Guinardó district which are on the mountain, La Clota is in a depression. In the lifestyle and aspect of the area we can still make out semi-rural elements, like houses with few storeys, lived-in farmhouses and an abundance of allotments.

La Clota's three-day-long festa major, the main festival, is bursting with all kinds of activities. The events, aimed a wide range of the public, are centred around Avinguda del Marquès de Castellbell. They include games for kids and an open-air disco. Popular culture is represented by the cantada d'avaneres, habanera singing, and the final correfoc fire run.
