This year’s “Música als Parcs” series closes with a jam session with Llibert Fortuny

The last concert in the series takes place in the Parc Central, Nou Barris, on the 30th of August

Saxophonist, composer, jam session coordinator in the Liceu Conservatorium ... despite his tender age, Llibert Fortuny has been one of the most respected musicians on the Catalan jazz scene for quite some time, a fact that makes it easy to understand why he has been selected to head a special closing session for this year’s Música als Parcs series.

On Friday the 30th of August in the Parc Central, Nou Barris, Fortuny will lead a iJam session similar to those regularly energize the Liceu theatre on Les Rambles, accompanied by Gary Willis on electric bass and David Gómez on drums. What this means is that the final part of the concert will see the addition of up to six more people who have processed there application to join the session before the 15th of August.

Throughout the summer, Música als Parcs has offered a total of almost fifty free jazz and classical music concerts in about thirty locations distributed through all parts of the city. The series was organised by the Barcelona Environment and Urban Services Department with the collaboration of a number of other organisations.
