A guided walking tour exploring the relationships between Joan Brossa and Barcelona

The MUHBA and the Joan Brossa Foundation are celebrating the centenary of the birth of the poet.

The relationship between Joan Brossa and Barcelona was always very close, and when walking around the city, you’ll find plenty of examples of the visual poems he created. Brossa was born 100 years ago, on 19 January 1919, and to mark that anniversary, the MUHBA Barcelona History Museum and the Joan Brossa Foundation have decided to put on a walking tour that takes in some of Brossa’s most important public works, many of which were commissioned by the city council and other institutions. The itinerary is called In the Footsteps of Joan Brossa. From MACBA to La Seca and is led by Laia Serrano will be in charge of guiding us through the streets of the city with the aim of finding out more about one of Catalonia’s most beloved creative spirits.

The walking tour will take place on 19 January at 10 am and 4 pm and will set off from the MACBA Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona, ​​which hosts the poet’s poetic and art archives, and will finish at the La Seca building, which is the headquarters of the Joan Brossa Foundation.
