Walking routes to celebrate the arrival of spring

Celebrate the beginning of spring in Barcelona’s parks and gardens!

Here are five itineraries around the city’s green areas organized by different civic centres.

Although the city may be less obviously gifted with green areas than other cities, Barcelona actually has plenty of parks and gardens, both within the city and in its immediate vicinity. To celebrate the beginning of spring, the city’s civic centres have organized a series of guided walking tours that will help us to explore these verdant areas in greater depth.

Two of these walks are scheduled for 23 March. The first, which departs from L'Elèctric civic centre, is a family-oriented route that aims to help you to notice the first signs of spring. The second, which is called 'Sembrant en femení', will depart from El Sortidor civic centre and tour the vegetable gardens of La Serreta.

Two more walks are scheduled for 30 March: 'The art of visiting a garden: Vil·la Cecília and Vil·la Amèlia', with departure from Sarrià civic centre and a visit to the Australian zone of the Botanical Gardens, which will leave from the Cotxeres de Sants civic centre.

Finally, on 31 March  there will be another route through the Botanical Gardens, but this time focusing on the Chilean zone. It also departs from El Sortidor civic centre.

The walking tours are free but registration is required at the participating civic centres. Additional information is available at the following link.
