'Salomon ben Adret of Barcelona (1235-1310)'

Visit Barcelona's 13th century Jewish Quarter

A new guided route by the MUHBA museum explores the story of Solomon Ben Adret, a key figure for understanding the history of Barcelona.

The Museum of the History of Barcelona is doing an excellent job of disseminating knowledge about the city's past through its multiple venues and organised visits with expert commentators. This museum will offer us the opportunity to explore the history of the city's Jewish quarter, called the Call in Catalan, on a route called 'Salomon ben Adret of Barcelona (1235-1310)'. Manuel Forcano will be responsible for telling the story of this important Jewish leader from the 13th and 14th centuries, who was a recognized Talmud scholar and held the title of Rabbi of Barcelona, and therefore the leader of the Jewish community, under three kings: Peter II, Alphonse II and James II.

The visit will take place on 16 December from 12 noon to 1.30pm, departing from MUHBA El Call, which was the home of Jucef Bonhiac.

The visit costs €7.50 and you can reserve a place at the following link.
