Violetta Curry and the Jaume Vilaseca Trio, in L’Auditori

The singer and trio will offer a free session of ‘Vermouth Time Jazz’ on the 18th of May

On the 18th of May in the Espai Exterior L’Auditori, Violetta Curry and the Jaume Vilaseca Trio will offer an early afternoon concert, beginning at 1.15 pm, as part of the series ‘Vermouth Time Jazz’. In a sixty minute performance entitled Honrando mis raíces (Honouring my roots), the popular North American singer will offer a retrospective of songs originally interpreted by her favourite jazz singers, those who influenced her throughout her childhood in the city of Philadelphia.

The performance will be based around anecdotes and personal stories linking Violetta herself with some of these singers, who she came into contact with through her father, himself a professional jazz musician.

Violetta will be accompanied by the Jaume Vilaseca Trio (himself on piano, Ramón Díaz on drums and Dick Them on double bass), a trio noted for their combination of pure jazz influences with rhythms leaning towards Latin jazz.
