Viking Musik BCN brings the Scandinavian music scene to L’Auditori

Concerts by artists the likes of José González, Jay-Jay Johanson, Rebekka Bakken and Bugge Wesseltoft have been programmed between the 20th of February and the 11th of June

From the 20th of February to the 11th of June L’Auditori has programmed a new series of concerts under the title Viking Musik BCN, a proposal that includes some of the best performers from the Scandinavian music scene as well as one Islandic representative, a total of seven concerts featuring international artists.

The series opens with the intimate stylings of Gothenburg’s singer-songwriter José González (20th February), who will present his latest release Vestiges & Claws. The 20th of March will see the turn of Jay-Jay Johanson, the Swedish singer considered by many as the great crooner of the electronic era. On the 27th of March, Rebekka Bakken will offer a repertoire that includes jazz, Southern rock and Norwegian folk.

The month of April will see two further concerts, one by Norwegian pianist, composer and producer Bugge Wesseltoft (10/04), one of the references in Future Jazz, the other featuring Iceland’s Emiliana Torrini (17/04), who will be presenting her latest pop recording Tookah.

The expansive pop of Sweden’s Japanese-born singer-songwriter Maia Hirasawa can be seen and heard in L’Auditori on the 15th of May and the series will close on the 11th of June with Perro del Mar, the pseudonym of Swedish composer Sarah Assbring.
