‘VIBRA’: frenetic urban dance
Brodas Bros hook up with percussionists Brincadeira for a show in which frenetic rhythms combine with hip hop moves
For some time now, Brodas Bros is a consolidated and successful project that has connected perfectly with the spirit of the times. Their aim was to take the language of hip hop to the theatre stage, transferring in that way the essence of what is basically street art into a higher art setting. In recent years, this particular art company has embarked on a series of performances that are visually stunning, colourful and full of rhythms. The latest is “VIBRA”, in which the rhythmic element is strengthened by the presence of the percussion band Brindadeira.
“Vibra”, which will be at Teatre Tívoli for 12 days, is a performance in which Brodas Bros put all of their energy at the service of choreographies that combine element of krumping and breakdance with a genuine Mediterranean touch, adapting a corporal language that originated in New York to the context of Barcelona. The same idea functions for percussionists Brincadeira, who will be working with them to create an irresistible spectacle.
