'Transparent City’ will help you to discover the small details of buildings, streets and squares that tend to go unnoticed.
A city always bears traces of its history and evolution. The signs are all around us, on houses, buildings, markets, on the very streets... The Born Center of Culture and Memory proposes an itinerary that will help us to see the Born district through different eyes – those, perhaps, of an architect, city planner or historian. Transparent City is the name of this guided walking route, which takes place at noon every Sunday until 27 May.
This type of activity is called vertical archeology and encourages us to avert our gaze from the iconic, grandiose structures and pay attention to the humble constructions that have a charm all of their own and that can tell us a lot about a place. Over the two hours of the itinerary, the participants will discover everything from old houses where artisans once lived to recently built blocks of flats.
