The biography of museum expert Ignasi Millet opens in cinemas on the 31st of January
Having previously been presented in film festivals such as those of Toronto and Amsterdam, Ignasi M., the twenty-fifth film by Ventura Pons, finally opens in cinemas on the 31st of January. The film is a biographical documentary on the life of renowned museum expert Ignasi Millet who, despite the difficult situation he is currently facing, has not lost his sense of humour.
Millet, who had a measure of success during the economic boom, subsequently lost his business, tried to save it by remortgaging his house and is currently on the verge of ending up on the street. His is gay, HIV-positive and participates in clinical trials while trying to survive the current slump and rebuild and enjoy his life on a day–by-day basis.
The film by Ventura Pons (Beloved/Friend, Anita Takes a Chance, A Thousand Morons, Year of Grace...) offers an acerbic, critical perspective on the current economic situation, though it is not entirely devoid of humour and optimism. Among other adjectives, the film has been described as brave, sincere and vitalist.
