A painting by Xavier Prat

Two unmissable exhibitions at Fundació Vila Casas

Photographs by master degree students at Elisava school and paintings by Xavier Prat will be on display at Can Framis, offering singular visions of the human condition

Can Framis, the biggest and most active of the Vila Casas Foundations’s exhibition spaces, is currently hosting two exhibitions, both of which explore the motivations that artists have and how their vision reaches the deepest parts of the human soul. One of these exhibitions contains paintings while the other features photographs, but both share the intentionality of the artist’s gaze and perspective. Xavier Prat was a Catalan painter who was born in Lima (Peru) and who died in 2007 at the age of 60. The most representative of his works was a series of portraits and landscapes depicting pre-Olympic Barcelona. A lot of his work has never been on public display though this exhibition features 50 of his paintings, selected by Sergio Vila-Sanjuán and titled Y en otra ciudad también amanece. Don’t miss it – 23 July will be the last day.

The second exhibition at Can Framis is Ocupar-habitar, a photo exhibition made up of the work of students on the master in photography and design programme at Elisava school, which will be at Can Framis until December. Their aim is to explore the relationship between bodies, objects and physical space.

Additional information is available on the Fundació Vila Casas website, where you can also purchase tickets.
