The play, performed by the Parking Shakespeare Company, can be seen free of charge up until the 4th of August
The Parc de l’Estació del Nord, Barcelona, is hosting Nit de reis (Twelfth Night), one of William Shakespeare’s most popular plays, up until the 4th of August. On this occasion the text, adapted and directed by Iban Beltran, is performed by Parking Shakespeare, who offer free, open-air productions of one of Shakespeare’s plays every summer. Twelfth Night, in this case, can be added to the list that already includes A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Love’s Labour’s Lost.
This convoluted beginning gives way to even more entanglements among the characters in this intensely choral work. Love, heartbreak and appearances (feigning to be someone we are not and failing to accept reality) are some of the ingredients of this work by Shakespeare. The cast is composed of actors and actresses such as Elies Barberà, Óscar Bosch, Mireia Cirera and Ester Cort.
