Maria Canals. Ruta dels Parcs

There’s a piano waiting for you in Barcelona’s parks

The parallel activities around the Maria Canals competition are continuing and now you have a piano at your disposal if you feel like playing

The Maria Canals piano competition has two branches: one for professionals, or future professionals, and another that aims to awaken an interest in the piano among the general population, even those who have no idea how to play the instrument. So, that means that you have a number of grand pianos at your disposal scattered around Barcelona, and even if you don’t manage to play one during the time of the completion, don’t worry because there will be more pianos around thanks to the Ruta del Parcs, which will ensure that there’s one in one park in Barcelona every Sunday.

The upcoming dates are the following: Sunday 7 May you’ll find a piano in Turó Park. On 14 May, the piano will be in Parc de Cervantes. And so on until 17 June in a route that will call in at, in chronological order, Plaça de les Dones del 36, Laberint d’Horta, Parc de la Guineueta, Parc de la Pegaso and Parc de Sant Martí, where it will be there, exceptionally, on Saturday. And on Sunday 18 June everything will reach a climax with the Festa del Piano in Parc de la Ciutadella, featuring a grand total of four pianos. So, you have no excuse for not playing one.

Additional information is available from the Maria Canals competition website. Participation is free.
