Technology at the service of musical creativity at the BCNLab tent on the Sonar+D

During the three days of the congress various projects and workshops are presented.

Companies, universities and platforms like Barcelona Laboratory (BCNLab) filling the pavilion number 4 of the Fira de Barcelona, Sónar+D headquarters have received visitors who stopped to learn about the new technology and art are contributing to the music and creativity. Synthesizers, amplifiers, motion sensors that turn into audiovisual creations, new electronic instruments, household biology laboratories, scanners and 3D immersive experiences through the use of glasses Oculus Rift are some of the projects that have most captured the attention of attendees congress of creatives Sónar technology.

From the tent of BCNLab have unveiled proposals for European funding for the development of innovation and creativity as CreatiFI and Creative Ring; the possibilities of creating musical pieces from environmental sounds by Hearhear.me application; how to make massive shows to interact directly with the public with Kalliope application; walk for ten spaces in Barcelona that incorporate a soundtrack for a different experience of the city with City Soundtrack or how to edit a vinyl record with crowdfunding platform Pick your Twelve.

It has also hosted the presentation of Music.Xip tool that facilitates the distribution record companies and artists, and held a workshop on crowdsourcing platform Live Cities.

The Creativitat and Innovation Directorate of the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona, with Inés Garriga at the helm, has also participated in the Sonar + D. Friday 18 noon, in one of the rounds of creative contacts between investors and Meet the investor, Garriga has acted as representative of CreatiFI, European program that promotes innovation in technology content using the Internet of the future (FIWARE). Precisely next August the second round of the program, for the commercial development and the acceleration of products and services using technologies opens FIWARE.

Saturday, the last day of the festival and the congress Sonar+D, citizen science BCNLab take the stand. It will be the collective experiment with Mr. Banks, an initiative that challenges participants to guess the stock market movements.
