Tap On Barcelona returns

The seventh edition of the tap dancing festival will be held from the 21st to the 27th of July and will feature free classes, master classes, performances, galas, improvised jam sessions and competitions

Tap On Barcelona returns for the seventh edition from the 21st to the 27th of July. The festival brings together Europe’s best tap dancers for an International Tap Meeting in which teachers, students and enthusiasts participate in a diverse programme of events that will have the streets of Barcelona tapping to the rhythms of this dance genre. As far as classes are concerned, these will include free lessons as well as professional courses and master classes with specialised teachers.

For those who like to observe rather than partake, the programme also includes performances by renowned artists, competitions and what are known as “tap jams”, or improvised tap sessions, which will take place in the Harlem Jazz Club (21/07) and the Sala Vivaldi (24/07). The competition entitled “Tap Dance Cutting Contest” will be held on the 23rd in the Espai30 venue of the Nau Ivanow and, for an exhibition of pure elegance, the Gala Tap On Barcelona (26/07) in the Sala Latino of the Teatre Principal will be the perfect showcase for invited professors to demonstrate their choreographic talents.

Tap On Barcelona will be held in a variety of venue around the city from the 21st to the 27th of July. More information is available here.
