The Taller de Músics equipped the Omega-Morente space thanks to the Department of Creativity and Innovation

The centre for musical training gets a grant to buy audiovisual and sound equipment for the new space in Sant Andreu.

Since May 2012, the Taller de Músics, obtained final approval to impart higher artistic education in music, the Higher School of Musical Studies (ESEM) moved to the neighborhood of Sant Andreu, to Can Fabra. And the new location helped to make available to the students “classrooms equipped with the necessary instrumentation and technology to assist and encourage learning, creation and professionalization" said the workshop managers.

One of the most emblematic resources of the new facilities is the classroom Omega-Morente, "the most approximate to the professional space that is a stage. With 150m2, it has a stage, professionally equipped for small and large groups, and it is the place where most of the creation, training and exhibition activities of the school are performed", they add.

The quality leap The Musicians Workshop made, pushed the entity to stop renting the audiovisual and sound material needed to teach music education today and invest in the equipment. This is how they decided to apply for the investment in information technology and communications grant (ICT) of the Department of Creativity and Innovation of the Institute for Culture of Barcelona.

ESEM currently has 140 students divided into four educational levels, as well as offering professional musical training, also works for the employability of its students.
