Conservatori de Barcelona

Sunday concerts at the Barcelona’s Conservatori Municipal de Música

This initiative features free concerts in a variety of styles every Thursday from October to December

There is clearly no lack of emerging musical talent in Catalonia, and the city’s municipal conservatory aims to put it on display with a series of free concerts every Thursday from October to December, offering an excellent opportunity to gauge the strength of local musical education and its students.

Upcoming dates include Catalan music for piano with works by Blancafort, Guzmán, Malats, Massià, Mompou, Olaf Sabater, Ribas, Vilaprinyó and Viñes interpreted by Mercè Molero, Lali Vivas, Cristina Morales and Jordi Vilaprinyó on 6 October and, on 13 October, a session devoted to dreams featuring works by Mahler, Strauss and Wagner performed by Eulàlia Ara (soprano) and Tània Parra (piano).

Additional sessions include a piano recital on 20 October, the Ministrings of Lausanne Conservatory on 27 October, the Chorale des Jeunes of the Luxemburg Conservatory in collaboration with the boys choir of the Conservatory of Barcelona on 3 November and the session Per a en Carles, en la seva jubilació, with works by Carles Guinovart on 10 November. All of these sessions are free and begin at 8pm. See the website for other concerts in the programme.
