“Summer evenings” in La Pedrera

Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening up until the 6th of September, the rooftop of La Pedrera will play host to a series of jazz concerts entitled Summer evenings featuring some of the best local jazz formations. While the summer series has been running for 14 years and has featured a variety of musical genres, this year’s edition features some of the best-known names on the Catalan jazz scene and will give visitors an idea of the level and diversity of local talent.

As with last year, the concerts will take place in the open air on the rooftop of La Pedrera, and in this edition visitors are invited to visit the Espai Gaudí, a visual résumé of the work of the architect, followed by a courtesy drink on the rooftop venue.

The 14th, 15th and 16th of August will feature Ivan Kovacevic 5 Spots, Kovacevic being one of the top musicians on the local rhythm & blues, rock & roll and swing scene. The 21st, 22nd and 23rd will be given over to the Jazz Machín, a jazz and electronic tribute to the king of boleros, Antonio Machín.

The 28th, 29th and 30th of August will be the turn of Llibert Fortuny & Gergo Borlai, two perennial performers who are perfectly at home in the groove, funky and electronic genres. Finally, on the 4th, 5th and 6th of September, two young local talents Felix Rossy and Enrique Oliver will put the finishing touch to the series.

Summer nights will take place on the rooftop of La Pedrera every Thursday, Friday and Saturday up until the 6th of September. Doors open at 9.45 pm and the concerts will begin between 10.15 pm and 10.30 pm.
