A new round of great modern music concerts at the Liceu
The Suite Festival once again offers an attractive way to enjoy modern music in one of Barcelona's iconic concert halls.
The idea behind the Suite Festival, which traces its origins to the beginning of 2015, was very simple: bring great modern music artists to Barcelona, in genres that run from jazz and rock to electronic music, and do so in a way that would ensure a distinguished and pleasant experience for the concert-goer. That means that the only venue that the festival uses is the city's emblematic Gran Teatre del Liceu opera house. The Suite Festival has attracted artists as varied as Kraftwerk, Bertín Osborne and Van Morrison. The 2018 edition, which is set to run from 23 January to 9 June, will close with a concert by Love of Lesbian.
Openers for this year's edition of the festival are the prestigious Catalan band Els Amics de les Arts, who have a new album to present titled 'Un estrany poder'. They will he followed on 16 March by the American soul and jazz singer Gregory Porter. Other confirmed artists are Tony Hadley (of Spandau Ballet), Norah Jones, Luz Casal, Pablo López, Antonio José and the above-mentioned Love of Lesbian.
