Successful participation in DAU Barcelona 2013

Attendees at the second edition of the festival of board games doubled from the previous year

DAU Barcelona is a festival that aims to provide support for creativity in board games. Its second edition, held in Fábrica de Creación Fabra y Coats on the weekend of 14th and 15th of December was attended by almost 9,000 people. During the meeting, over 7,500 games were played, and the games were presented to about fifty games publishers, organizations, associations and authors.

The festival organized by the City of Barcelona Innovation wants to highlight the creative process of the authors in the design of the game and this year hosted a scientific experiment as a game about human behaviour called “M.Banks”.

The DAU Barcelona first prizes were awarded at the festival. Erwin Glonnegger was the winner of the DAU Barcelona prize for dedicating his life to games, while Bauza Antoni won the award for best author of the year 2013, and Etienne Espréman got the award for best new author of the year.

It is expected that the future for this 2014 edition finished placing the DAU as a European benchmark for board games festivals.
