Llufes: a night of fire and street celebrations
Once again, the traditional 28 December correfoc by the Devils of La Barceloneta will fill the streets of the neighbourhood with noise, gunpowder and fun.
28 December here is the day of llufes, a kind of April fool's day on which one is allowed or even encouraged to spread falsehoods and play practical jokes on people. And in the Barceloneta neighbourhood it's also time for the local troupe of Devils to fill the streets with fire and fireworks in a kind of mad parade.
The Night of Llufes will begin at 8.30 in the evening and, for 120 minutes, will follow the seafront promenade of Barceloneta until Plaça del Poeta Boscà, in the company of the Devil's of La Barceloneta. To take part, just head for the neighbourhood to celebrate the brightest night this winter.
