'Carmen' at Palau de la Música Catalana

Bizet's most famous opera returns to Barcelona.

You’ve probably heard its signature themes thousands of times, but maybe you’ve yet to see it performed live. The opera 'Carmen' by French composer Georges Bizet is universally hailed as the quintessential example of the operatic genre. Popular since its premiere in 1875, it has become the most frequently performed opera in the world. And now we have the opportunity to see it performed live in a staged version in two acts at Barcelona’s Palau de la Música Catalana in a production directed by Xavier Puig and Roberto Laborda, with the Terrassa 48 and the Metropolitana de Barcelona orchestras. Twenty international singers will alternate in the main roles, in the company of NovAria Ballet and Choir.

This production of ‘Carmen’ will be at the Palau de la Música on two evenings – the first at 9pm on Saturday 24 August and the second performance at 6.30pm on Sunday 9 December.

Tickets, which cost from €38 to €58, can be purchased at the following link.
