'Sounding Objects'

The Goethe-Institute of Barcelona hosts until February 15 the three most representative installations of the German mathematician and musician Erwin Stache.

Erwin Stache's works are characterized by the use and reuse of recycled materials, its later study, the distancing of commonly used objects, the exhibition space and finally the interaction with the audience. This last point is critical to understand while playing with his works, because in them is necessary interacting with the movement and touch to the instruments / trigger works.

The exhibition 'Sounding Objects' consists of the three best known visual installations of the artist: "Kuckucksuhrenorchester / The Cuckoo clocks Orchestra", "Hande / Hands" and "Ihre Verbindung wird gehalten / Keep waiting, please. "

Erwin Stache has been studing, manipulating and understanding sound for the last thirty years. In East Germany the spirit of recycling and restoring partly all machines that had fallen into disuse was very common. To get the sounds he wanted Erwin began to collect items from the trash and manipulating them to get the desired sound.
