SonarKids, at Cosmocaixa

An amazing mini technological orchestra, bright dancing robots and electronic music composition with Guillamino, at the SonarKids.

From 21 to 23 December 2013 there will be the 2nd edition of Cosmocaixa SonarKids in a world of experimentation, creativity and sensations where children can enjoy the first contacts with the experimental music using digital technologies.

Baby Laptop orchestra
A participative workshop prepared by the Barcelona Laptop Orchestra where a mini orchestra of very special instruments will be created: peppers, lemons, pears, radishes and carrots will be used to deliver amplified sounds. Children can build, invent and play instruments intuitively, drawing and modeling conductive materials, and paint or trim their own controllers that will be interactive. The Barcelona Laptop Orchestra is composed of professors and students of the Music Technology Group at the University Pompeu Fabra.

BR2 (Brodas Bros)
Year 2222: sunlight no longer reaches the Earth due to climate change. The world is completely dark. The BR2 robots are in charge of entertaining and feeding humanity with the light created from sunlight, a magical light that causes smiles, health and happiness. The BR2 also demonstrate that robots can dance.

"0> 100" Workshop of musical composition with Guillamino
Guillamino's workshop will explain to children how to compose electronic music in real time. Children should bring their own instruments from home, from a plastic saxophone to a toy guitar, triangles, harmonicas and tambourines. Guillamino will work directly with the sounds created by children and their instruments, so that the public can realize and understand how a song is created.
