Shakespeare turned into a 50's musical by Àngel Llàcer and Manu Guix
The great British playwright's "Much Ado About Nothing" sounds with live music of Cole Porter from 15 October to 29 November at the National Theatre of Catalonia
The famous and multifaceted artist Angel Llàcer chooses the text, one of its favorite comedies by William Shakespeare, and the well known Catalan musicians Manu Guix adapts the songs from popular composer Cole Porter, all of it under the supervision and with the help of Marc Artigau in dramaturgy and musical adaptations.
If you add to this the crazy idea of turning a classical piece in a cotemporary version Shakespeare's comedies, inspired by the movie American the fiftyyears, plus the talent of a large company of young actors and actresses, the dream becomes true: Much Ado About Nothing premieres at the National Theatre of Catalonia giving life voice, notes and dancing to the unthinkable romance between contemporary musical and classic theater.
Performers with faces more or less known, as David Verdaguer, Clara Altarriba, Enric Cambray, Lloll Bertran, Àngel Llàcer or Aida Oset, appear on stage to sing and dance live, with colorful dresses, to expose the secrets and the tricks that separate the borders between friendship and love.
