Self-guided tours of the Barcelona shipyards

Visitors may tour the site at their own pace using QR-coded signs which provide information about the numerous points of interest

The Barcelona Maritime Museum has proposed self-guided tours of the dockyards in which visitors can acquaint themselves with the location, its history and the works that have been carried out as a consequence of the restoration of the architectural complex on which construction originally began towards the end of the 18th century.

The tour is open to all visitors and is clearly signed by means of QR codes which provide additional information on the points of interest by means of video, photographs and audio files. The museum also provides a pdf file, which can be downloaded from the website, or the possibility of acquiring an explanatory pamphlet when purchasing an entry ticket.

Highlights of the tour include the gothic Torre de Levante, the replica of the galley “Real” in the Main Slipway, the defensive walls, the bulwarks and the Roman necropolis dating from the 1st to 6th centuries, which was discovered underneath the site.
