The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

The film stars and is directed by Ben Stiller and opens in cinemas on Christmas Day

The secret life of Walter Mitty, directed by and starring Ben Stiller, tells the tale of a dreamer who escapes his anonymous life by submerging himself in a fantasy world full of heroes, romanticism and action. When his job and that of his friend come under threat, Walter enters into action in the real world, setting out on a round-the-world voyage that is to become a more extraordinary adventure then even he could have possibly imagined.

The secret life of Walter Mitty, which opens on Christmas Day and is expected to be one of the season’s biggest box-office successes, is an adaptation of the homonymous film directed by Norman Z. McLeod in 1947 and which in turn was based on a story by James Thurber. The film is Ben Stiller’s most ambitious project to date, having previously had successes with original comedies such as “Zoolander” and “Tropic Thunder”.

Accompanying Stiller in the cast are actors and actresses of the calibre of Kristen Wiig, Shirley MacLaine, Adam Scout, Patton Oswalt, Kathryn Hahn and Sean Penn.
