Three intense days for the scenic and visual arts in Poble Sec

From 13 to 15 April, a number of venues in the neighbourhood will host the events that make up the Seco Festival, which features a combination of scenic and visual arts.

Since 2016, the Seco Festival has had a mission: to liven up artistic life in Poble Sec in the most intense, ambitious and inclusive way possible. The neighbourhood is an important cultural hotspot in the city, hosting aa extensive network of concert halls, cultural associations and art galleries, and sooner or later these diverse spaces sharing powerful bonds were bound to come together to send a more powerful message. During the weekend of the festival, the action will be focused in three venue types: Sala Upload, with a music-based programme on 13 April, Plaça de les Tres Xemeneies, with dance and drama on Sunday 15 April, and, sandwiched between these days, a series of performances and events at workshops, galleries and associations such as Porta Roja, Nook and Jam Circus, all on Saturday 14 April.

Now for the details: on Friday the music will be performed by bands and producers specialising in experimental electronic sounds, including Fasenuova, Vernon Sullivan, Filastine and Embolus, who combine techno intensity with the power of industrial music. The dance and theatre companies invited on Sunday are, among others, Los Moñecos, Cocanha, La Guapa and Moveo. Meanwhile, at the area's art galleries and other cultural venues, there will be performances related to film, dance and other forms of artistic expression on Saturday.
