Sants becomes a fantastic Victorian stage and the weekend of 3 and 4 October
The III Steampunk Fair of Barcelona concentrates the biggest fans and experts of steam technology at the Centre Cívic de Cotxeres de Sants
The steampunk emerged as a literary sub-genre, which mimics the Victorian speculative fiction found in The Time Machine (1895) by HG Wells. Over time, it matured into a current artistic and cultural movement that surpassed the literary environment. The steampunk unfolds in a setting where steam technology remains the predominant, and is usually located in England during the Victorian era, where it is not unusual to find common elements of science fiction or fantasy.
All lovers of this current, which makes converge disciplines of fashion, modeling, literature, performance and creative craftsmanship, can meet on 3 and 4 October, at the Centre Cívic de Cotxeres de Sants, where there will be held The III Steampunk Fair of Barcelona, within the framework of the European EuroSteamCon 2015 event.
The aim of the Steampunk Fair of Barcelona is to bring together amateurs and professionals, and provide a space where they can show their creations, discuss and know each other, always immersed in a themed environment where everyone can be the star of the steampunk imaginary. The fair, which changes location this year, brings many activities together in a weekend, ranging from exhibitions to dance shows and live music, signatures and book presentations, discussions, lectures, creative workshops, contests and sweepstakes . We can even tsee airships parked where the horse tramways did before!
