The concert will take place on the 16th of November in L’Auditori as part of this season’s series dedicated to contemporary creative sounds
On the 16th of November in L’Auditori, Ictus Ensemble, a Belgian contemporary-classic orchestra founded in 1994 by Jean-Luc Plouvier, will offer a programme based on World War I that includes Le Soldat Inconnu, a piece by Greek composer Geoeges Aperghis based on a story by Franz Kafka, and l’Histoire du Soldat, by Igor Stravinski. The director is Georges-Elie Octors, who has been at the helm of the Belgian ensemble since 1996.
The concert forms part of the L’Auditori 2014-2015 season Sampler Series programme dedicated to contemporary creative sounds, which includes a dozen or so performances and installations and is the first of its kind to be organised in the city. Over the coming months the programme will include performances by The Living Room (17/12), Thomas Ankersmit (14/02), Nadar Ensemble (13/03) and Phill Niblock (25/04), among others.
Ictus Ensemble will perform on the 16th of November in the Sala 2 Oriol Martorell in L’Auditori, Barcelona. Advance tickets are priced at 10 euros. For more information on either the Ictus Ensemble or the Sampler Series, please consult the L’Auditori website.
