The Sala Phenomena opens its doors

The new cinema opened its doors on the 19th of December on the premises of the former cinema Nàpols and during its first month will be screening films such as “2001: A Space Odyssey”, “Jurassic Park”, “Terminator 2” and “Pulp Fiction”

The film initiative known as Phenomena Experience, which has been filling numerous Barcelona cinemas on a regular basis over the past four years, has finally opened its very own venue in the former Nàpols cinema in the Sagrada Família district.

The newly-refurbished cinema boasts one of the biggest screens in the country and the latest in digital technology and opened its doors on the 19th of December with a double bill featuring the same two films that were chosen to inaugurate the initiative in 2010: Jaws and Alien. In the first month of business the new venue will be screening films that have been shown in other venues over the past four years, including Taxi Driver, The Goonies, The Exorcist, Pulp Fiction, Robocop, Labyrinth, West Side Story and Manhattan. 2001: A Space Odyssey will be shown on Christmas Day and a double bill consisting of Jurassic Park and Terminator 2 has been programmed for St. Stephen’s Day.

In addition the new Sala Phenomenon will be hosting thematic film cycles, Grindhouse sessions, re-releases, children’s sessions, films previously unseen on our shores as well as individual, double and marathon sessions of current releases.
