Religious music cycle

Religious music for all publics

The Pere Pruna Civic Center, in the district of Sarrià, is set to host the ninth edition of its annual two-week cycle of religious music.

Whatever your position on the ideas and beliefs behind them, religious art and music continue to have an aesthetic impact that is able to transcend languages, cultures and traditions. Religious music, from the Gregorian chants of the Middle Ages, through the polyphonic pieces of the Renaissance, to later Baroque Classical and Romantic pieces by composers like Bach, Mozart and Beethoven, are among the fundamental pillars of our culture. And this tradition is celebrated in an annual cycle of religious music that takes place at the Pere Pruna Civic Center in the district of Sarrià.

This year, the ninth edition will take place in the run-up to Easter, in the two days . The concerts last one hour and will feature different choir formations performing iconic pieces selected from the long history of western religious music.
