The psychological thriller “Mindscape”, starring Mark Strong, opens in cinemas

The Catalan co-production of director Jorge Dorado’s full-length debut opens in cinemas on the 24th of January

An expert in entering the minds of others accepts a new case, on this occasion, that of a brilliant but problematic adolescent, the objective being to find out whether the young girl is a psychopath or merely a trauma victim. Therein lies the basis for the psychological thriller, Mindscape, the full-length debut of Madrid-born film maker, Jorge Dorado.

The film, a Catalan co-production clearly directed towards the international commercial market, stars Mark Strong and Taissa Farmiga. Strong is known for his supporting roles in films such as Sherlock Holmes and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, while Farmiga, who’s sister Vera is also an actress, has seen recent popularity with the series American Horror Story and Sofia Coppola’s film The Bling Ring.

Mindscape opens in cinemas on the 24th of January and has been sponsored by Catalan film maker Jaume Collet-Serra, an expert in the genre within the North American film market thanks to films such as Orphan and Unknown. The film was included in the Official Section of the latest edition of the Cannes Film Festival and Dorado has been nominated for a Goya award in the debut director category.
