Princesses and Queens of Baroque, a lyrical performance in the Monestir de Pedralbes

On the 24th of January, soprano Soledad Cardoso and pianist Ricardo Estrada will interpret works by Handel, Rameau and Vivaldi

This is a continuation of the programme of lyrical performances Les Veus del Monestir. This month’s performance, Princesses and Queens of Baroque, includes works by Handel, Rameau and Vivaldi, interpreted by soprano Soledad Cardoso. The director of the programme, Ricardo Estrada, will accompany her on the piano.

Born in Argentina, Cardoso has been a disciple of both Alfredo Krauss and Teresa Berganza and has performed on such noteworthy stages as the Cité de la Musique, in Paris, the Barbican Centre, London, and the Teatro de la Zarzuela, in Madrid, and has worked with stage directors Pier Luigi Pizzi, Marco Arturo Marelli and Nicolas Joel, the current director of the Opéra National de Paris.

This programme of concerts is free of charge and is only limited by the seating capacity of the venue. The aim of the programme is to offer an even wider selection of items of interest within the framework of the location, the Monestir de Pedralbes, a social and historic epicentre of great artistic, architectural and historic interest. It’s no wonder the museum is able to offer such an abundance of surprises
