Premiere of “Tots volem el millor per a ella” (We all want what’s best for her), by Mar Coll

The film stars Nora Navas and opens in cinemas on the 25th of October

Four years after the resounding critical success and prestige awarded to her first film, Tres dies amb la família (Three Days With the Family), which won the Gaudí award for best Catalan language film and the Goya award for best debut director, among other prizes, Mar Coll’s new film Tots volem el millor per a ella, starring Nora Navas, opens in cinemas on Friday the 25th of October.

One year after suffering a horrendous car accident, Geni (Nora Navas) is ready to take her life back into her own hands. Or at least that’s what her family feels. The reality, however, is that, while she would love to keep everybody happy, Geni feels unable to live up to expectations as her life prior to the accident is no longer of interest to her. This confusion gives rise to erratic behaviour and a growing obsession, to leave home.

While the tone is similar to that of her first film, the tragicomic aspect of this film is even more marked, and Mar Coll constructs a portrait of identity crisis which simultaneously analyses the concept of family hierarchy within a bourgeois environment.

The remainder of the cast includes Valeria Bertuccelli, Clara Segura, Pau Durà and Àgata Roca.
