Premiere of Pau Miró’s Victòria at TNC

The cast includes Joan Anguera, Mercè Arànega, Pere Arquillué, Jordi Boixaderas and Emma Vilarasau, among others

Pau Miró is a member of a small group of Catalan playwrights able to premiere their work in major theatres. Companies like T de Teatre commission his services, and Sala Beckett has included one of his works as the key piece in an ensemble staging paying tribute to the history of the theatre. It’s now time for Miró to make another leap in his career with the premiere of Victòria at the imposing Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (TNC).

Emma Vilarasau will play the part of Victòria, a woman living in Barcelona in 1951- a repressive environment in which a love triangle emerges in the midst of clandestine political struggle. Victòria comes to realise that she will be forced by necessity to choose between the ideologies that are permitted and those that are prohibited.

Vilarasau will be accompanied by an all-star cast featuring key names in Catalan drama like Joan Anguera, Mercè Arànega, Mar Ulldemolins, Pere Arquillué and Jordi Boixaderas.  The prize-winning Max Glaenzel is responsible for the staging and David Bofarull is in charge of the lighting for a play that will run from the 4th of May to the 12th of June.
