Polish cinema on show at the Filmoteca

The sessions will continue until the 15th of March

The sessions that we are recommending here take on even more sense given the success of Pawel Palikowski’s Ida, winner of, among others, Lux Prize from the European Parliament and the Oscar for best Foreign Language Film. It’s an icon of Polish cinema which has excelled itself recently with productions that are hitting cinema screens all around the world, and Barcelona’s Filmoteca has now scheduled a series of Polish films.

The 1st of March marks the beginning of this cycle that aims to make Polish cinema better known among the Catalan public. These are films that are less well known, given that Central European cinema is not well distributed here. The list of films includes Mow mi Marianna, the degree project of a student (Matka Ziemia) and Body/Cialo – which won a Golden Bear award at the Berlin Film Festival and will be presented on the 4th of March by its main star, actor Robert Wieckiewicz.

You’ll find a synopsis of each film here, so take your pick.
