Poisoned, at the Museu Blau

"Enverinats" (poisoned) gives us a close-up on the world of Nature's venoms, with 50 live animals such as tarantulas, frogs and snakes, as well as plants, mushrooms and minerals.

From December 19, 2013 the Museu Blau (Pl. Leonardo da Vinci, 4-5, Barcelona) hosts the temporary exhibition "poisoned".

Poisons have terrified and fascinated humans since the beginning of time, as they are an invisible and sometimes incomprehensible danger. Falling prey to a large predator is very different from succumbing to a mysterious, tiny creature that is lethal.

The exhibition shows us the workings and uses of poison, demystifying beliefs and revealing unknown aspects of this toxic substance which can kill a man in two minutes but is also used in treating diseases such as Alzheimer's or epilepsy.
