The first large format exhibition on the subject in the world.
The event we're recommending here is concerned with the relationship between literature and the digital age we're currently living in. Modernity and tradition are seen from a contemporary point of view, and the fact is that digital literature is a form of technological literary creation that can already boast of a well-nourished tradition.
Starting from the basis of the various elements of complexity that the phenomenon presents such as physical complexity (what and how it is like) the complexity of authorship (who does it, the programmer, the machine...), receptive complexity (the logics of reading that the digital environment and the diverse formats used by creators), typological complexity (the variety and confusion of genres, the hybridization of a writing from here and now) and perceptual complexity (how we read, with what we read, etc.).
Today's texts are not unique nor simple; nowadays texts are hypertexts, which is to say, a text traversed by other texts, inserted into a textual yarn fed by diverse threads. A text of texts that allows one to link the written word to an image, to music, movement, temporality, sensuality and an endless succession of possibilities; and that is what is on display at Arts de Santa Mònica: a gateway to a literary reality that is still emerging from a digital environment using digital means, and it can only be "consumed" in an optimal way (that is, without limiting its functions, resources, style and intentionality) in this context. It is the first large format exhibition in this field in the world and allows visitors to trace the phenomenon from the past to the most recent literary forms. It can be seen from the 28th of January to the 10th of April and admission is completely free.
