Physical shapes in the art of Miró

"Miró and the object" is a monographic exhibition that explores the artist's creative journey through collages, ceramics and sculptures, from 29 October until 17 January 2016

In the early stages of their work, Joan Miró explored in the field of pictorial representations, to make it grow into a physical incorporation by collage and assemblage, and finally reach the sculpture. This process is the one that describes the monographic exhibition Miró y el objeto, curated by William Jeffett.

The story of the exhibition gives us light on the artist's exploration around the object, and how this concern led him to develop different techniques and procedures.

The selection includes paintings, collages, objects, ceramics and sculptures from the Joan Miró Foundation, and is enriched with unique contributions from public and private collections in Europe and America.

Miró y el objeto aims to show how Miró challenged painting in the late twenties. The intense dialogue between the artist and the objects contributed to a transcendent transformation in the conception of art of the twentieth century.

Besides the exhibition, the Fundació Joan Miró organizes some parallel activities that complement the sample itinerary.
