Past and future converge in a new edition of EYECatalunya

This year’s third session of the programme in which creators present their projects will be broadcast on the 19th of May from the Recinte Modernista Sant Pau in the company of social educator Marta Olaria, mural artist Jose Minguell and designer Jose Luis Merino

On Tuesday the 19th of May the third session in the 2015 season of EYECatalunya will be broadcast live, beginning at 8.30 pm, and will feature a programme entitled Combining past and future: from the ancient tradition of mural painting to the social innovation of the Arrels Foundation. While last year’s programme was broadcast from the Arts Santa Mònica this year’s edition will we recorded in the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau and presented by soprano, musicologist and medical practitioner Patricia Caicedo. The session can be attended in the venue itself or viewed via streaming.

EYECatalunya is a platform in which people from any location around the world can meet and interact with a selection of the most innovative creators working in Catalunya today. Each invitee has six minutes in which to present their project, six further minutes to partake in an interview and six final minutes to answer questions from those attending the programme or who are connected via internet.

This edition’s guests include social educator Marta Olaria, muralist Jose Minguell and illustrator and designer Jose Luis Merino. Olaria works in the Arrels Foundation, an organisation involved with Barcelona’s homeless, and will speak about the light of these people and offer advice as to how the general public may offer them assistance. Minguell is known internationally as an artist who maintains the tradition of mural painting alive and will speak about his work and his perspective on the future. And finally, Merino, the winner of numerous international design awards, including last year’s prestigious American Illustrator Award, will speak about his career and the various facets of his profession.
