The Parc Científic de Barcelona leads the «Live Research Fair» at CosmoCaixa

From 8 to 11 April researchers from different research centres in Catalonia will be moving part of their laboratory setting to CosmoCaixa to invite citizens to participate in their projects and solve puzzles following scientific methodology.

The fair includes interesting activities such as exploring in real time what happens around the underwater station OBSEA; discovering what and how Iberians fed; identifying mutations in DNA that cause hereditary diseases; decoding the key to online translation engines; measuring greenhouse effect gases; cracking the encryption system of information from the International Space Station; seeing how the neurons of a zebrafish embryo are generated, or finding out what compounds crystalize in the shape of a flower, sphere or hedgehog, are some of the projects in which visitors can participate.

The "Live Research" fair is an exhibition of the leading projects carried out in centers and research institutes in Catalonia. During the fair, visitors will discover the type of research carried out in various research centres while doing little experiments interacting with research equipment.

Like in previous editions, the three winners of the programme «Tutoring for Secondary School Students» —addressed to upper secondary students who develop a research project supervised by a researcher from PCB— explain their projects at one of the stands of the Fair.

The fair -organized annually by the Parc Científic de Barcelona under the “Research In Society” program - aims to bring science to society and promote scientific vocations among young people. This year, it is taking place with the support of "Obra Social ”la Caixa"  and the Ajuntament de Barcelona.
